This was an unofficial and rather unscientific test of Mac Browsers. I didn’t time anything either.
The procedure was as follows. Open Gmail, close gmail. Google search cattle, go to the first result which was a wikipedia article. Then reopen Gmail in a new tab. Open a new tab and Google search for ‘test’. Open a blank tab. Open another tab and go to Google Reader.
Results (First number real memory, second number virtual memory):
Opera 10: 133.45MB 1.02GB
Safari 4: 141.38MB 1.01GB
Firefox 3.5b: 156.01MB 972.05MB
Chrome: 105.7 MB 3.29BG
